TW: Rape and sexual assault.  

I wrote the title before I finished the whole video. I wanted to puke right after the quote was said and then he started to talk about rape myths, which made the whole thing worse. There really is nothing good about the video is called: “Double Standard - Men are pimps and women are whores!” by Jovan14606 but I said I would review it. He starts out the video by saying women’s sexuality is treasured in society because they are called sluts and whores when they have sex. Our business is a special jewel, after all. He says men’s sexuality is degraded because they are called pimps so no one really gives a shit about men’s sexuality. The reason men are called pimps and not whores is because we value men’s sexuality and treat women as nothing more than a freaking “special jewel,” i.e. we are nothing more than a freaking vagina. Women’s sexuality IS degraded in society. How women’s sexuality is degraded depends on her race and class. White middle/upper class women are supposed to be pure and virginal until marriage and then pop out a bunch of white kids so they can help society by making it more white! I wish I was joking. Women of color are seen as horrible people for having children because they are either welfare queens taking white peoples money or once their kids grow up they are going to take jobs away from deserving white people. That is illustrated by “Californians for Population Stabilization” new ad campaigns. If those ads don’t point to white supremacy, I don’t know what does. My point is, women’s sexuality is not valued in society. It is degraded because women are degraded in our society. The way women’s sexuality is degraded depends on race and class because of racism and classism.

Next thing he talks about is how when a woman is raped, unless she is a sex worker/prostitute, people take it seriously and don’t take men being raped seriously. 1 in 33 men are raped and 1 in 6 women are raped. With stats like that, all rape is not taken seriously. If rape was taken seriously by society and we didn’t live in a rape culture, those stats would not exist. When women are raped and report it, the majority of the time they are not taken seriously. When a woman of color is raped her case is not taken seriously at all because of the stereotypes surrounding women of colors sexuality (she is loose and asking for it). When white women are raped, the cops and media (if the case gets picked up by them) questions what she was wearing, was she drinking, was she out at night, was she not being “safe,” and question why she had the nerve to even show herself in public. The media or cops don’t mention folks are MORE likely to be raped by someone they know close to where they live/where they live. There are thousands of rape kits just sitting in evidence in police departments/storage area’s because no one has bothered to test them. If women do report their rape, which is so unlikely because they are not taken seriously. The media just blamed a 12 year old for being raped last year because she “dressed like a 16 year old.” A school system blamed a girl for being raped at their school, suspended her for being raped, and made her apologize to her rapist for making him become “turned on.” Rape against the LGBT community is not taken seriously by the police and never discussed in the media because it’s not seen as important. When the media reports about a women of color being raped it is ALWAYS to degrade her and say how she really wanted it. Rape is just not taken seriously in our society regardless of who the victim is. So no, because women’s sexuality is “valued” rape against them is taken seriously. Biggest load of shit I have EVER fucking heard. To get raped and have no one care is beyond horrible. The fact Jovan said it was a blessing to be raped while being a woman because someone cares scares the living fuck out of me. Who the fuck can think like that?!?!? 

He then talks about if a prostitute gets raped, is it rape or theft? Hint: it’s rape. Not theft, but rape. Not consenting to sex=rape. Plain and simple. 

I am not happy the sexual double standard exist. It degrades women and only hurts everyone. It is not helping anyone and it should not exist. The fact it exist is a fucking problem. Feminist don’t talk about this because it benefits women, it fucking hurts women. 

tl,dr: Jovan14606 is a rape apologist and misogynist who needs to shut the fuck up and learn a thing or two about rape and sexuality. 

To all my followers. Go out and have sex, don’t have sex, wait to have sex. Make sure sure you are respectful of your partners when doing so. Just don’t let anyone guilt you for choices. You’re sexuality is an extension of you not the other way around. If anyone tells you any different they can go barefoot stomping on some Legos.
